The contemporary dance of the MOTUS Company in the program of the 75th edition of the Estate Fiesolana Festival
On Saturday, June, 25, at 9:15 pm, the Estate Fiesolana Festival hosts the preview of the show
“Ingratitudine”, new production of the MOTUS Company, realized with the support of Regione Toscana.
As you can immediately guess from the title, the show analyzes a feeling that has always belonged to humanity and that has conditioned ancient and modern history. According to Goethe “Ingratitude is always a kind of weakness”, while for Cervantes “Ingratitude is the daughter of pride”. So a very current feeling, with all the wounds it opens, in a hectic time in which we find it difficult to remember, even if remember is our sacred duty, especially after a global pandemic crisis and with a war in the heart of Europe. Therefore, benefactors, who generously offered support and help, are criticized and hated by those who have been most benefited. In fact, the crowd chooses Barabbas, instead of Jesus.
The Roman Theatre in Fiesole, the first ancient theatre in Italy hosting classical tragedy shows, is the best place to stage the ingratitude, an ancient, almost genetic evil, from which no one can claim to be immune.
On choreography by Simona Cieri, who directs the show together with her sister Rosanna Cieri, “Ingratitudine” is performed by Martina Agricoli, Ilaria Fratantuono, Lukas Lizama Garrido, Roberta Morello, Gian Maria Picciau and Mattia Solano.
The 75th edition of ESTATE FIESOLANA is organized by Comune di Fiesole, PRG Srl and Associazione Music Pool, thanks to the support of Comune di Fiesole, Fondazione CR Firenze, Regione Toscana TusxRegion of Tuscany and Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo, and with the support of local companies Dorin, Bibi Graetz, Chianti Banca, Unicoop Firenze, Il Salviatino and Sammontana.
